We Pass the Thread is a meditation on the intergenerational connection created through sewing. It features the stories of five women across three generations of my family and encodes them into printed designs. By layering the designs on top of each other, the connections between each person’s experiences are made evident. The stories are collected, in interview format, in an accompanying booklet. Colored text and in-text footnotes denote moments of overlap between each story.
