The goal of this project is to showcase the history, importance, and breadth of socially engaged typography. Design considerations, including color, type size, and text orientation, help to organize the content in a digestible way. So as not to distract from the typeface specimens, the body and heading font is Dalton Maag’s Aktiv Grotesk, known for its warm neutrality. The poster composition creates upward movement reflecting the optimistic intention behind these typefaces.
Accompanying the poster, is an animated trailer which utilizes the same visual system to further showcase the typefaces and their importance.
